Poker Player from Belarus Won More than Half a Million Dollars

Nikita Bodyakovsky was the fifth at the HK $ 1,000,000 Short Deck Ante-Only event of the Triton Super High Roller Series, which is taking place now in the South Korean city of Jeju.

The winning of the Belarusian player was 4.62 million Hong Kong dollars. If converted at the current rate this is 588.7 thousand US dollars.

The winner of the tournament was Kenneth Ki from Singapore. He received 22.5 million Singapore dollars, which is equivalent to 2.87 million US dollars.

The series in Jeju, meanwhile, continues. The winners of the last tournament – HK $ 2,000,000 Main Event will be announced on Wednesday.

It is worth mentioning that final winning is often lower. For example, player’s entry fee is deducted from the sum. Secondly, there are cases when investors are involved, so the player gets only a part of the prize. Third, every wining usually follows after a number of losses remaining behind the scenes. Thus, it was reported earlier in July that Bobyakovsky has lost one million USD at The Big One for One Drop in Las Vegas. The Big One for One Drop is a $1,000,000 buy-in No Limit hold ’em tournament hosted at the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

Earlier in May, Bodyakovsky earned $ 2.55 million in the Triton Super High Roller tournament and $ 1.6 million in the Super High Roller Bowl tournament. The overall career winnings of the poker player approached $ 11 million.

Nikita Bodyakovsky is considered the most successful player in poker from Belarus. A former chess player, he earned his first million in poker by the age of 18.
