The Gauselmann Group has formed a joint venture company with TMT Investments called XTIP Polska with the aim of buying Poland-based operator Totolotek from Intralot.
Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) confirmed it had received information detailing a takeover of Totolotek for an undisclosed fee.
XTIP Polska is a joint venture of Merkur Sportwetten GmbH (Gauselmann Group) and TMT Investments S.A. In addition to the design, production and sale of gaming machines and money management systems, the Gauselmann Group also operates a network of CASINO MERKUR-SPIELOTHEK salons. It is also active in many other market segments, such as sports betting, online games and casinos. TMT Investments is in turn an investment and consulting company. Has a number of investments in Poland.
Totolotek is a licensed mutual betting operator in Poland, offers sports betting, betting on matches, chasing dogs and horses. It is controlled by Intralot S.A., a Greek company listed on the Athens Stock Exchange, which is a lottery partner around the world. Totolotek SA is a company other than Totalizator Sportowy, which is responsible for organizing the Lotto draws.
Totolotek, who has more than 260 betting outlets across Poland, is the official sponsor of Polish football club Lechia Gdańsk, as well as the Polish Cup. It also supports the Legia Warsaw basketball team, as well as Polish volleyball champions PGE Skra Bełchatów.
