52% of Ukrainians don’t believe the President Zelensky legalizes gambling

Kiev International Institute of Sociology has published a study reflecting the opinion of Ukrainian on legalizations of gambling. The study took place from December 1 to December 12, 2019. The survey was conducted in 110 settlements in all regions of Ukraine.

As a result of the survey, 2043 questionnaires were collected. According to the survey, 62% of respondents know that there are several draft laws on the legalization of gambling in the parliament.

At the same time, 56% said they did not fully support the question “Do you support legalization of the gaming industry”. Another 19% of respondents support the legalization of gambling, but provided that special gaming zones or localized sites are designated for this purpose. Only 18% fully support the legalization of gambling.

Respondents were asked what games from the list given to them could still be allowed in Ukraine legally. Almost half of the respondents (50%) believe that these may be lotteries; 22% chose bookmaker bets; 19% chose casinos on this list. In response to this question, 37% said that none of the gambling could be legalized in Ukraine.

52% of Ukrainians have a negative opinion that President Volodymyr Zelensky approves of the legalization of the gambling business. 35% of the respondents have a positive attitude to this initiative of the President.
