A player from Kazakhstan wins the main event of the EPT Open Sochi

Vyacheslav Bondartsy from Kazakhstan is the winner of the main event of the European Poker Tour in Sochi which was held in Sochi casino on September 21-29. The 27-year-old poker player got the first championship cup of the EPT tournament series for his country.

Vyacheslav Bondartsy came up with the second largest stack to the final table of the Main Event. He made a deal with Russian Evgeny Leonidov and eventually has won the tournament receiving  12 million rubles (about $200 000). Evgeny Leonidov for the second place received more than 11.25 million.

After winning the Main Event, Bondartsev said he was happy that he could bring the first EPT Champion Cup to Kazakhstan.

Like many players, I undoubtedly dreamed about it, and now I am overwhelmed with pride. I feel indescribably! I am overwhelmed with strong emotions and joy. I am happy and still cannot believe it.

Vyacheslav Bondartsev has been playing poker since 2010. He is the winner of the poker Championship in Kazakhstan, he has also won prizes at the tournaments of the series of TCOOP and Sunday Warm-up.

The open poker tournament in Sochi is a part of the European Poker Tour (European Poker Tour, EPT). Participants had a chance to win Platinum Pass packages worth $ 30,000 each, which give their holders the right to participate in the PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship. The next stage of the EPT will be held in Prague from December 7 to December 18, 2018.
