The Bulgarian Ministry of Finance has decided to appoint Georgi Yordanov as a temporary chief of the State Gambling Commission (SCC). Yordanov will be entrusted with the functions of the chairman of the controlling department. Since 2014, he works in the Ministry of Finance. His track record also includes the leadership of the inspectorate under the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and the work of the state inspector at the Ministry of Finance.
Yordanov’s career began with the post of head of the inspection in the Ministry of Agriculture. The new head of the State Gambling Commission was also the secretary of the National Plant Protection Service.
The appointment was necessary due to the forced resignation of former head of gambling comission Alexander Georgiev, who is involved in the investigation related to Bulgaria’s gaming boss Vasil Bozhkov.
