Kazakhstan plans creating a resort area on the coast of the Caspian Sea with entertainment and a gambling projects. The news was announced by the Minister of Culture and Sports Arystanbek Muhamediuly.
The project will be implemented by the Turkish company, which has already begun construction works in the future recreation area.
At the first stage, it is planned to develop 16 hectares of land stretching along the coastline. The objects of the first phase of construction will be a luxury hotel with 600 rooms, a water park and a heated swimming pool. The territory is also planned to include casinos, parks, lagoons and recreation. In addition, the integrated resort will also be equipped with a spa, restaurants, a football field, a tennis court, a congress center, and golf villas.
It is worth noting that casinos generate very modest funds to the budget of Kazakhstan. In particular, at the beginning of 2014 in Kazakhstan there were 13 casinos, 8 slot machine halls, 37 bookmaker offices and one tote. And, according to the Tax Committee, the casinos and slot machine halls from 2008 to 2013 paid taxes in the amount of 19.4 billion tenge, and the bookmakers from 2007 to 2013 – 3.2 billion tenge.
