Gambling market in Latvia has been expanding. According to the figures published by the national regulator the Lotteries and Gambling Supervisory Inspection (IAUI), the gambling revenue for the first six months of 2019 has jumped to €154.5m from €134.6m in 2018.

Gambling machines generated €111.5m, which is up 11.5% on the same period last year.
Income from online gambling increased 38.8% year-on-year from €18.2m to €25.4m. Online casinos were the most popular form of iGaming activity during the first half, with income up 40.1% to €18.1m. Online betting income has laso increased by up 35.3% to €7.1m.

There are all together 15 gambling operators and State owned Joint Stock Company „Latvijas Loto” (state run lotteries). There have been issued: 11 land-based gambling operation licenses; 4 betting point operation licenses; 9 on-line gambling operation licenses.
