Authorities of the Stavropol Krai of the Russian Federation do not give up the idea of creating a new gambling zone in Kislovodsk. According to the governor of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, such a zone would help attract more tourists.
“14-20 thousand cars leave the territory of the Russian Federation in direction of Georgia to visit Geargian casinos, and 20 thousand cars is at least 40 thousand people,” the governor noted.
Earlier, the authorities of Stavropol Krai repeatedly declared their desire to create a gambling zone, which will help to increase the regional budget by 1.5 billion rubles. However, the idea has not yet found support of the Ministry of Finance of Russia.
Kislovodsk is a spa city in Stavropol Krai, Russia, in the North Caucasus region of Russia which is located between the Black and Caspian Seas.
There are six gambling zones in Russia. The oldest one “Azov-City” was opened in 2009. At the end of October 2018, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered to close it beginning from December 31.
