The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Parimatch Russia betting company Dmitry Sergeyev has named the most popular e-sports disciplines among the bookmaker’s clients in Russia. Dota 2 and Counter Strike get the largest number of bets from Russian players.
Sergeev said that Parimatch is interested primarily in those two disciplines. He noted that in Russia Dota 2 and Counter Strike remain “champions” in the number of bets. The CEO of Parimatch also noted a strong growth in e-sports betting. According to him, in recent years, not only gamers, but also fans of traditional sports began to place bets on computer games competitions.
Moreover, according to Sergeyev, the information that only insolvent youth is fond of eSports and bets on it is an outdated stereotype. The “esports betting audience” is made up mainly of young people from 18 to 28 years old.
The e-sports audience in Russia is constantly growing, the segment remains one of the most promising areas. Over the past three years, the number of bets on e-sports has grown eight times, which is significantly higher than any other sports competition.
