National Challenge Cup tournament which took place simultaneously in 13 cities of Ukraine has become the most attended poker event in the country. The event has been held in April with the support of the All-Ukrainian sports poker federation and PokerMatch.
Qualifying tournaments were held in Kiev, Kharkiv, Dnieper, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnitsa, Kherson, Nikolaev, Poltava, Kremenchug, Lutsk, Kamenets-Podolsky and Pavlohrad. With the total of 4,302 buy-ins, the event has became a record for Ukraine. The total prize fund of the tournament was almost 1.8 million UAH.
Nikolai Zolotov, a poker player from Kyiv has won the tournament, proving he was the best out of 108 108 players selected for the superfinals.
It is worth mentioning that another big international poker event is scheduled for this May in Kyiv. PokerMatch UA Millions poker series will be held in Kyiv from May 9 to 19. The organizers of the series with a total guaranteed prize pool of 10 million UAH report plan 15 tournaments to identify the new poker champion of Ukraine.
