MPs voted on Thursday to amend the law on the amendment to the “Gambling Act”, which assumes the extension of the objectives of spending funds from the Development Fund for Physical Culture on the development of “social tourism.”
The Sejm accepted without adjustments the amendment to the Gambling Act. 416 MP’s voted for the amendment, three were against, three abstained.
The amendment is the reaction of the Committee on Petitions to a petition addressed to the Sejm by the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society (PTTK), which requested adding to the Act of 19th of November 2009 on gambling games (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 165 , 650, 723), the new purpose of spending financial resources from the Fund for Development of Physical Culture to support the development of social tourism.
As Deputy Minister of Sport Jan Widera informed earlier, “detailed conditions for spending and controlling the spending of funds for financing purposes, including social tourism, from the Physical Culture Development Fund will be submitted in the regulation of the Minister of Sport and Tourism, after public consultation with PTTK and other interested stakeholders from the tourism industry “.
