Poland – Merkur has permission from UOKiK to take over Totolotek

Merkur Sportwetten GmbH received the consent of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) to take control of Totolotek S.A., reported UOKiK on Twitter.

Merkur consolidates the activities of the Gauselmann group companies in the field of sports betting in Germany and abroad. The operations of Merkur subsidiaries include the development and distribution of mutual betting software, the development and distribution of sports betting products (online and offline) and the operation of betting points.

Totolotek is a licensed mutual betting operator in Poland providing online services and in land based points, including: sports bets and animal competition bets. Totolotek is controlled by Intralot S.A., a Greek company listed on the Athens Stock Exchange, which is a lottery partner worldwide, as well as a licensed organizer of games and mutual bets.

The application was submitted on March 21st, 2019.
