In the first quarter of 2019, the value of the declared tax on slot machine games amounted to PLN 2 million 281 thousand. PLN 1 million 805 thousand in the entire last year – the PAP press office informed the Ministry of Finance. As noted, the ministry is assessing the effects of the amendment to the Gambling Act of 2016.
“Totalizator Sportowy Sp. z o.o. from the second half of 2018, systematically develops activities in the area of slot machine games in salons. As a result, the value of the declared tax on slot machine games in salons on slot machines in 2018 amounted to PLN 1.805 million, while in the first quarter of 2019 it reached PLN 2.281 million “- the press office of the Ministry of Finance informed.
“The Ministry of Finance is currently not carrying out legislative work on the amendment of the Gambling Act. At present, the effects of all the solutions introduced to the Gambling Act are updated with the Amending Act of December 15th, 2016 in the aspect of both expected and actual effects in all areas. Only a comprehensive review of their functioning will allow to assess the legitimacy of taking new actions “- the Ministry added.
The Totalizator Sportowy press office has announced that there are currently 40 slot machine salons.
“By the end of the summer, we plan to double this number. New salons will be created all over Poland ”
– forwarded the press office. It has been added that there are 600 slot machines in salons.
The company, when asked about the financial results from slot machine games, wrote that they would “be in the financial statements”.
Totalizator Sportowy announced in mid-May that it had signed a contract for the delivery of EGM terminals. Those are gaming machines.
“The next contract for the delivery of EGM terminals has been signed. Negotiations are currently underway with subsequent suppliers of these devices ”
– said the TS.
Totalizator Sportowy introduces slot machine games based on the amended Gambling Act, implementing the state’s monopoly in this area. Last year, the company moved with game salons as part of a pilot program.
At the beginning of April, TS announced that over PLN 6 billion amounted to last year’s sales of all products offered by Totalizator Sportowy; in 2017, it was PLN 5.6 billion. The total value of all budget payments in the previous year amounted to over PLN 2 billion.
On April 1st, 2017, the amended Gambling Act came into force. The amendment thoroughly amended the Act of 2009 and introduced a strong state control in the area of slot machine games. According to the Act, among others, slot machines are managed by Totalizator Sportowy, the owner of the LOTTO brand, which is a State Treasury company.
