Totalizator Sportowy introduces slot machine games based on the amended Gambling Act, implementing the state’s monopoly in this area. Last year, the company moved with gaming machines outlets as part of a pilot program.
The Finance Ministry’s communication and promotion office at the beginning of April announced that “Totalizator Sportowy has 31 operating salons for slot machine games” and “plans to purchase machines as part of the tender procedure”.
At the beginning of April, Totalizator announced that over PLN 6 billion amounted to last year’s sales of all products offered by the company; in 2017, it was PLN 5.6 billion. The total value of all budget payments in the previous year amounted to over PLN 2 billion.
On April 1st, 2017, the amended Gambling Act came into force. The amendment thoroughly amended the 2009 Act and introduced a strong state control in the area of slot machine games. According to the Act, among others, slot machines are managed by Totalizator Sportowy, the owner of the LOTTO brand, which is a State Treasury company.
