Poland – Wiesław Janczyk dismissed from the position of Deputy Finance Minister

As part of the further reconstruction of the government of Mateusz Morawiecki, another four deputy ministers lose their positions – reports PAP. Among others, Wiesław Janczyk had been dismissed, Secretary of the State in the Ministry of Finance.

Further changes will be introduced in the government of Mateusz Morawiecki. Wiesław Janczyk, Undersecretary of the State and government plenipotentiary for supporting reforms in Ukraine, lost his job in the Ministry of Finance. The Prime Minister was already about to accept his resignation. PAP refers to the dismissal of Janczyk, based on unofficial information obtained from sources close to the government.

Janczyk is a Member of PiS from Męciny in the Limanowa commune, he has been sitting in the Parliament since 2007. For many years he has been the head of party structures in Limanowszczyzna, a year ago he was the plenipotentiary in constituency no. 14, covering Sądecczyzna and Podhale.



“Slimming down the government” by Mateusz Morawiecki

On March 12, as part of the “slimming down of the government” announced by the Prime Minister, 17 deputy ministers lost their positions: Maciej Małecki, Rafał Bochenek and Jarosław Pinkas from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Michał Woś from the Ministry of Justice, Jerzy Materna from the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Sailing, Andrzej Piotrowski from the Ministry of Energy, Piotr Woźny from the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, Paweł Sałek and Andrzej Szweda Lewandowski from the Ministry of Environment, Ewa Lech from the Ministry of Agriculture, Aleksander Bobko from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Kazimierz Smoliński and Tomasz Żuchowski from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Marek Tombarkiewicz and Piotr Gryza from the Ministry of Health and Krzysztof Silicki and Krzysztof Szubert from the Ministry of Digitization.

Mateusz Morawiecki also informed then that “in the coming days or weeks” will be presented the names of several subsequent deputy ministers who will leave his cabinet.

During the press conference, Mateusz Morawiecki explained that

The “most important reason” of the resignation series in his cabinet is “the desire to conduct structural changes”. As he emphasized: where you can improve something, you should do it.
