According to the research from H2 Gambling Capitalthe offshore online gambling has fallen in Poland. The repost was commissioned bt Totalizator Sportowy and revealed Poland’s offshore gambling market shrinked to 25%.
In 2016, offshore gambling accounted for 80% of the country’s total gambling market. It was then that an amendment to the legislation was adopted, which opened the way for domestic operators regulation. As a result, as of 2020, the share of offshore companies decreased to 25% and amounted to 629 million PLN ($ 165 million).
Currently, about 78% of the entire online gambling market is controlled by legal gambling operators, but H2 still expects the illegal gambling market to grow by an average of 3.9% by 2026, and regulated market by 4.1%.
