In order to protect the customers of betting companies in Russia, it is planned to create a unified register of e-sports tournaments allowed for betting services offered by local operators. This was informed by Oleg Davydov executive director of the First Russian self-regulated bookmakers organization (SRO).
“Now, when almost all sports events have been cancelled, e-sports has topped the rankings in terms of the volume of bets reported by Russian bookmakers. Therefore, it is necessary to regulate this area more efficiently. At the moment, a lot of low ranking events are taking place in e-sports. It is unclear who organizes them, where they are held and whether they are held at all. The first SRO is considering, in agreement with the federal authorities, the introduction of a unified register of e-sports competitions which you can place bets on. The register will be common for all Russian bookmakers, so that bets are accepted only on those tournaments that really exist and where results are verifiable. This will help to fight dishonest practices, and, first of all, protect clients of the betting cmpanies, ”Davydov said in an interview with Sport24.
