Russian bookies spent over EUR70 million on sports sponsorships

According to Bookmakers Ratings (RB), legal betting companies in Russia spent about 5 billion rubles on sponsorship of sports organizations and tournaments in 2019.

The most expensive sponsorship contract with Russian sports organization was inked between the Liga Stavok and the Russian Premier League. According to RB, the agreement cost is about 600 million rubles per year.

Sponsorship of broadcasts of the English Premier League on Okko platform cost 700 million rubles for Olymp betting compane per season, which makes this contract the most expensive among all sponsor activities of bookmakers in Russia.

Some of bookmakers have also disclosed their annual sponsorship budgets with Bookmakers Ratings (RB). So, “Parimatch” spends about 600 million rubles a year for these purposes, and “Betcity” pays 350 million rubles. The expenses of the Liga Stavok are approximately 1.2 billion rubles. The remaining bookies did not disclose these data.

Football is the leading sports in the number of sponsorship contracts. In the 2019/20 season, each RPL team has its title sponsor. According to , the most expensive bookmaker and club agreement was concluded between Winline and Spartak Moscow (200 million rubles).
