The leader of the “Servant of the People” faction in the Ukrainian Parliament, David Arahamiya, said that the bill №2285-D “On state regulation of activities related to the organization and conduct of gambling” can pass the second reading by the end of May.
The politician stated this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine:
“We plan to adopt the law by the end of May. We could not consider it in the mode of extraordinary sessions, but now we will enter the next and we will accept. Ban of gambling is not a method. Everyone says illegal gambling is bad, but nobody does anything. We just need to cut these knots. Of course, by cutting them down, we will make mistakes and it is important to be aware of and correct these mistakes quickly,” David Arahamiya said.
Earlier, the first deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that according to the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada, deputies should consider the law on gambling this Thursday. However, the speaker of the parliament Dmytro Razumkov said on Monday that due to technical reasons the people’s deputies will not consider the bill №2285-D this week.
