Ukraine wins IFMP Match Poker Nations Cup

The Ukrainian national poker team took has won the main trophy of Match Poker Nations Cup 2019. Six poker players from Ukraine showed the best results in match poker competitions, which were held in Ireland from March 22 to 24.

Ukrainian team managed to score 1307 points during the six game sessions, which is 24 points more than Germany. The third place was taken by the team from Ireland, who was defending last year’s champion title in their native country. In total, 6 teams took part in the competition, including teams from India, Taipei and the team of online players.

It was for the first time when Ukraine took part in this competition. It became possible after including poker in the list of official sports in Ukraine in August 2018. The players were selected by All-Ukrainian Sports Poker Federation, the team was sponsored by the poker room PokerMatch. The Ukrainian team was represented by Timur Azizov, Roman Golovko, Vladimir Drokin, Mikhail Kedrovsky, Andrey Lyubovetsky, Andrey Momot. The only woman in the team, Olga Ermolcheva, was recognized as the most valuable player of the tournament.

The Nations Cup is an annual 2-day international Match Poker event, established in Lausanne in 2009 by International Federation of Matchpoker (IFMP).
