Ukrainian Gambling Commission to stop its work in a month

According to Boris Baum, head of the advisory board of the Ukraine’s Gambling Commission (KRAIL), there is a risk the gambling watchdog stops its activities this October. There problem is that the one year term contracts of the members of the commission end in October. And the procedure of the election of the new members has not been started yet.

It is worth noting that all members of the Ukrainian Gambling Commission were hired without proper competition required by the law. It happen so due to the lockdown rules during the COVID-19 pandemic. So, after the end of the lockdown a new competition procedure should be announced by the govenment. However, nothing has been done so far to elect new members and thus there is a risk KRAIL can stop its operation this October, untill new members are elected.
