Three resolutions were submitted to parliament to repeal the gambling law. They blocked the signing of the law for Verkhovna Rada Speaker Dmitry Razumkov and, accordingly, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The parliament did not support any of them.
Thus, after the resolutions were rejected, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada may sign the law on gambling and submit it to the president for signature.
Among the main points of the law are the introduction of criminal liability for organizing gambling without a license, permission to locate slot machines halls only in hotels with three, four or five stars, regulation of “classic” lotteries and age restrictions (gambling is allowed for persons over 21 years). Restrictions are imposed on the advertising of gambling, in particular, it is forbidden to advertise gambling as a way of easy enrichment.
