188 illegal casinos closed in Odessa

188 illegal gambling establishments have been closed by Ukrainian police in Odessa during 18 months. The information is published on the official website of local prosecutor’s office.

“Due to the work of the prosecutor’s office, the police, SBU and tax service in the second half of 2017, illegal operation of 188 gambling establishments in Odessa was terminated in 2018,” the press service reports. “3,350 units of computer and gaming equipment and almost 900 thousand UAH were seized.”

Moreover, the prosecutor’s office of Odessa region has passed the case to the court against 10 representatives of the criminal organization, which operated a network of seven illegal casinos in Odessa.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Attorney General Yuriy Lutsenko said that police will intensify fight against illegal construction, gambling and other shadow enrichment schemes in Odessa.
