Latvian poker player wins the WPT Barcelona Main Even

Vitalijs Zavorotnijs from Latvia has won the World Poker Tour Barcelona Main Event. The tournament was held from March 10 to March 17, 2019. The Main Even champion won the Baccarat Crystal WPT Tournament of Champions ticket, as well as a cash prize of 600 thousand euros. Participation in the Main Event of the WPT Barcelona 2019 costed 3,000 euros, and the prize fund of this tournament exceeded 3.5 million euros.

Winning of 600 thousand euros was the largest in the career of this Latvian player, twice the sum of all his past achievements. After the completion of the WPT Barcelona 2019, Zavorotnijs also commented on his victory:

“I know that I can play very well, but I also know that I cannot win without a share of luck, and I was lucky. It is difficult to describe all my feelings. I am very tired and very happy!”

This is the second major player victory this year. This February, Vitalijs Zavorotnijs won the main tournament at OlyBet Kings of Tallinn in Estonia and earned 85 thousand euros.
