Revenues of gambling operators in Latvia increased by 9.8% in the first quarter of this year compared to the first quarter of last year and amounted to 62.272 million euros, according to data from the Inspectorate for the supervision of lotteries and gambling, reports LETA (Latvian news agency).
Most of the revenues come from slot machines - 49,081 million euros, which is 7,1% more than last year. The revenues from online gambling amounted to 9.09 million euros (+ 51.6%), casinos - 6.319 million euros (+ 70.1%), totes - 2.712 million euros (+ 23%), card tournaments - 58.8 thousand euros (-21.4%).
Income from gambling tables (roulette, cards) in the first quarter amounted to 3.539 million euros (-18%), tote - 0.51 million euros (+5.3%), bingo halls - 0.051 million euros (-29.4%). The total turnover of gambling operators increased by 8.8% to 65.975 million euros in the first quarter of 2018.
