Andriy Nemirovskyi, Member of Parliament of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko Block, has published a post on Facebook with information about plans to submit a new draft law to legalize bookmakers in Ukraine.
“How much can you cheat yourself that there is no gambling business in Ukraine and close eyes to the fact that after the ban on gambling, we simply changed the signs of gambling establishments, which now call themselves “internet cafes” and so on, and money flows not to the state pocket, but in the hands of criminals and law enforcement agencies, which provide cover for them”.
Ukraine loses at least UAH 5 billion annually due to the ban. According to the MP, this money could be directed towards social needs, as it is done in most European countries. The MP has also reminded that his own draft law on legalization of gambling business remains unrevised by the Parliament for three years.
“I think a new bill will be registered regarding the legalization of bookmakers soon…”, the MP summarized his post.
