Adjara Group to leave gambling business

Business Georgia informs that Adjara Group closed its new Aviator casino, which was part of the Stamba Hotel.

According to casino-ratings.ru, Aviator casino was opened in 2018 in Stamba Hotel. The venue of 836 square meters was equipped with 170 newest slot machines, 25 gambling tables offering American roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker (Texas Hold’em, Russian).

The company explains that the casino had no financial problems and it was a strategic decision.

“Leaving the gambling business has long been part of our strategy, so that in this context we will gradually leave this market. We will definitely leave this market “- said the executive director of Adjara Group Valery Checheria.

According to Valery Checheria, Adjara Group  will continue to develop in the future in hotel and agriculture industries. There is no information what project will replace the casino.

It is worth mentioning that Paddy Power Betfair has bought a 51% controlling stake in Adjarabet, an online betting and gaming company based in the regulated Georgian market, for £101m.
