PartyPoker goes live in Czech Republic

GVC Holdings-owned PartyPoker has launched online operations in the Czech Republic, via a partnership with local casino operator King’s Resort.

PartyPoker becomes the second international operator to secure an online gambling licence in the country, after The Stars Group. Czech players will now be able to access PartyPoker’s global liquidity dot.com poker games, initially only via desktop with mobile to be added in the near future.

Consumers that want to play online will need to verify their identity at post offices throughout the country. This ID verification service will soon be extended to King’s Casino in Rozvadov.

“We have some ambitious and exciting plans for 2019 in partnership with King’s and there will be plenty on offer for Czech players at PartyPoker,”

- PartyPoker’s managing director Tom Waters said.

“We look forward to announcing a host of launch promotions and events, alongside details of our product offering in the coming weeks.”

King’s Resort owner Leon Tsoukernik added:

“King’s Resort is home to Europe’s largest poker room and regularly hosts some of the biggest events in the world working alongside the premier brands in live poker, like the World Series of Poker Europe, World Poker Tour and PartyPoker Live Millions. This renewed partnership with PartyPoker further consolidates our position as a major player in the global poker industry and represents another step forward in our commitment to players.”

Last month, GVC said growth within its online business in the past year looks set to drive an increase in revenue for 2018. GVC expects 2018 revenue to grow 9% year-on-year. Total online net gaming revenue for the year at GVC was up 19%, or 21% on a constant currency basis.
