According to Liga.net, there are tens of thousands of gambling venues in Ukraine. The authors of the article write that most of them are illegal. Some use loopholes in the law to open gambling halls under the guise of state lotteries. Despite the total ban of gambling in Ukraine, the gambling business is booming and generates about 1 billion euros.
Gambling establishments can be found in every Ukrainian city and the number of locations grows. For example, there were about 5,500 lottery point in Ukraine in 2012 and there are 40,000 of them as for today. According to experts, 60% of these lottery points are actually illegal gambling venues.
Moreover, there are thousands of totally illegal casinos, which operate back door and pay 1-2 thousand Euro monthly to police for protection.
