PokerMatch has launched the social campaign “Poker is Sport” staring popular Ukrainian poker players. The most successful poker player of Ukraine, Yevgeny Kachalov, acts in the first commercial. The video displays him playing football, and then moving to the poker table.
According to PokerMatch, the goal of the social campaign is to show Ukrainians that poker is the same kind of sport as football, hockey, chess or gymnastics. “In this game, as in other popular sports, the one who has more skills and experience wins”. The first videos titled “Poker is sport!” are already broadcasted on Ukrainian TV channels UA: First, Sport-1 and Sport-2.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine included poker into the list of sports a year ago. Since then, Ukraine has seen several national poker championships, the winners of which have fulfilled the standards of the masters and candidates for the master of sports.
